Abstract

The bispectral index (BIS) in dogs anesthetized with increasing or decreasing doses of continuous infusion of propofol associated or not with nitrous oxide (N2O) was evaluated. Thirty two adult healthy crossbreed dogs were randomly assigned to four groups: GPDO (group propofol decreasing + N2O), GPD (group propofol decreasing), GPCO(group propofol increasing + N2O), and GPC (group propofol increasing). General anesthesia was induced by intravenous administration of propofol (10 mg/kg), and after tracheal intubation, GPDO
