The cows assigned to this study were randomly allocated in three groups, where A (n=19), B (n=19) and C (n=19). Superovulation was induced in the cows from group A with 300UI of FSH, whereas group B received 400UI of FSH, and group C 500UI of FSH. To analyze statistically the potential of reply to the superovulation protocols, the ratios of viable embryos between the treatments had been compared by the Qui-square test ( ), adopting the levels of significance of 5%and 1%. When the level of significance was set as 1%, differences in the ratios of viable embryos were seen in the treatments 300 and 400 UI. With the level of significance of 5% significant differences existed between the treatments of 300 (33/95) and 500 (33/56) UI, whereas no differences existed in the treatment with 400 (65/106) and 500 (33/56)UI. The treatment using 400 UI of FSH presented greater number of viable embryos. KEY-WORDS: Gir. Superovulation. Embryo.Published
